Dr. Alastair Tehan
Alastair Tehan has over 10 years Osteopathic experience and has worked extensively with a number of leading health professionals. He started private practice right here in Geelong before heading to the United Kingdom to work at the London School of Osteopathy (LSO). Upon his return, Alastair worked at various health clinics in Melbourne and Gippsland and was appointed to senior lecturing and clinical positions with Victoria and RMIT Universities.
Alastair also works in a teaching partnership with his father Philip Tehan, an Osteopath/Physiotherapist with more than 45 years experience. Together they have taught manipulation/HVLA courses to Allied Health professionals and university students, both in Australia and internationally in Taiwan.
In practice Alastair appreciates that Osteopathy caters for a broad range of conditions and he uses a targeted and evidenced informed approach to treatment. He has a particular clinical interest in neck and back pain and sporting injuries.
Away from the clinic Al likes to be active and has a passion for various sports, especially footy. He played over 10 years in the VAFA including at state representative level. Otherwise he can be found spending time on the Surfcoast with Jess, his partner, and Ziggy, their golden retriever.
Dr. Jess Nicholls
Jess Nicholls has over 10 years experience as an Osteopath, working across Melbourne and regional Victoria.
Jess also teaches undergraduate and postgraduate Osteopathy students, most recently as a lecturer and clinical supervisor at RMIT University.
Her approach to treating musculoskeletal conditions is influenced by her further training in the fields of obstetrics, paediatrics and gentle osteopathic techniques.
Jess believes that a multidisciplinary team care approach provides the best results for her patients and she enjoys working alongside other practitioners and health modalities. As a result of this, Jess is currently completing post- graduate training in Clinical Pilates and is excited to add this exercise rehab discipline to the Geelong Osteopathy Group.
What Jess won’t necessarily tell you is that she also works professionally as a Lifestyle and Wedding photographer. This work has seen her commissioned internationally from New York to Italy. For the curious, her work can be found here, jessnicholls.com
